Safety reporting is key to understanding how to foster an ever-improving environment of safety culture. As part of their membership agreement, CAODC members provide the Association with the following:
  • Fatalities
  • Lost-Time Incidents (LTI)
  • Restricted Work Cases (RWC)
  • Medical Treatment Only (MTO)
CAODC uses this information to provide the following statistics based on a 12-month rolling average:
  • Lost-Time Incident Frequency
  • Lost-Time Severity Indicator
  • Lost-Time Adjusted Frequency
  • Restricted Work Case Frequency
  • Restricted Work Case Severity
  • Restricted Work Case Adjusted Frequency
  • Medical Treatment Frequency
  • Total Recordable Incident Frequency (TRIF)
In 2003, TRIF (Total Recordable Incident Frequency) became the CAODC standard for statistical incident analysis and is based on Injury Analysis Definitions - view - and the Injury Analysis Formulas - view.
