CAODC 2012-2013
Scholarship Program Information
Sponsored by the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC). The CAODC Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2012/13 CAODC Scholarship Program. The program consists of five (5) $2,000.00 bursaries towards tuition and fees.
Objective
To provide educational assistance to an employee or child or other legal dependent of an employee of a CAODC drilling or service rig member company, or the CAODC proper, and thereby encourage him or her to continue education past the high school level.
Only full drilling and service rig members are eligible to apply. Subsidiary or affiliated divisions of drilling and service rig companies are not eligible to apply, nor are associate member companies.
Eligibility
Applicant must be:
Awards will be made only to those entering or continuing post-secondary education from an accredited college, university or trade program as full-time students (three or more classes per semester).
Assistance
Cash scholarship(s), of an amount to be determined every year by the CAODC Board of Directors, will be paid directly to accredited institutions of higher learning schools upon admission of the student(s) selected. The funds may be applied to tuition fees or other educational expenses (e.g. textbooks) with any balance at the end of the semester year carried forward for the student’s account. Any balance remaining after graduation or termination of enrolment is to be refunded to the CAODC Scholarship Program by the institution.
Application Procedures and Restrictions
Applications and all supporting materials must be received at the CAODC office by the established deadline. Late applications will not be accepted.
Scholarships will be awarded only to those seeking degrees from an accredited college, university or trade program. No application will be processed without a copy of the most recent transcript of high school, college or university grades. Applicants must include the name of the college, university or trade school they plan to attend. Applicant must notify the CAODC office if there are any changes.

How to Apply
The application form and required materials must be returned to the CAODC office (Suite 800, 540 - 5 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, T2P 0M2) by Friday, July 13, 2012.
No late applications will be accepted. The CAODC Scholarship Committee will screen all applications submitted and select the recipients of the awards. Successful applicants will be contacted directly.
