2010 Scholarship Application


ELIGIBILITY:

Applicant must be (1) the legal dependent (natural child, stepchild, adopted, ward) of an employee from the CAODC proper, or a CAODC drilling or service rig member company (Subsidiary or affiliated companies are NOT eligible) ; OR (2) a bona fide employee of the CAODC proper, or a CAODC drilling or service rig member company.

Awards will be made only to those entering or continuing post-secondary or vocational programs as full-time students (three or more classes per semester).

ASSISTANCE:

Cash scholarship(s), of an amount to be determined every year by the CAODC Board of Directors, will be paid directly to accredited institutions of higher learning or accredited vocational schools upon admission of the student(s) selected. The funds may be applied to tuition fees or other educational expenses (e.g. textbooks) with any balance at the end of the semester year carried forward for the student's account. Any balance remaining after graduation or termination of enrolment is to be refunded to the CAODC Scholarship Fund by the institution.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND RESTRICTIONS:

Applications and all supporting materials must be received at the CAODC office by the established deadline. Late applications will not be accepted. Scholarships will be awarded only to those seeking degrees from an accredited college, university or trade program. No application will be processed without a copy of the most recent transcript of high school, college or university grades. Applicants must include the name of the college, university or trade school they plan to attend. Applicants must notify the CAODC office if there are any changes.

AWARD PROCEDURES

  • Recipients chosen by the CAODC Scholarship Selection Committee are notified directly.
  • Cheques will be issued to the student's account at the appropriate institution upon receipt of confirmation of student's enrolment. Cheques will include a form to be completed and returned to the CAODC by the institution. This form acknowledges the understanding that the funds must be applied to tuition fees or any incidental education expenses (ie. textbooks) with any balance at the end of the semester year carried forward in the student's account and any balance to be refunded to the CAODC after the student graduates from school.
