CAODC's Mission

CAODC is the unified voice of the Canadian drilling and service rig industry. This industry association promotes safer and more efficient operations through advocacy, communications and needed products and services.

CAODC's Vision

To be a leading advocate for the Canadian petroleum industry, promoting the value of a strong drilling and service rig sector.

CAODC's Guiding Principles

CAODC is committed to:

  1. Promoting a culture of safety excellence in the industry.
  2. Acting in the best interests of its member companies, their employees and the industry as a whole.
  3. Continuing a strong tradition of leadership and cooperation.

CAODC's 4 Membership Categories

Drilling Rig Division:
  • includes 41 drilling companies operating a fleet of 815 land-based rigs accounting for nearly 100% of the fleet currently operating in Canada.

Atlantic Division:

  • includes 2 offshore companies operating a fleet of 4 offshore rigs.

Service Rig Division:

  • includes 70 service rig companies operating 1102 units across western Canada.
  • CAODC's Service Rig Division accounts for some 98% of Canada's service rig fleet.
Associate Division:
  • CAODC's 188 associate members represent a cross section of the business community. These members, while neither owning nor operating rig equipment, have a keen interest in the industry and include oil companies, Canadian and US brokerage houses, investment analysts and oilfield service companies.
